When it comes to royal favoritism, it appears that Kate Middleton has claimed the crown.
The late Queen Elizabeth II had her sights set on passing down her remarkable collection of jewels, valued at an astounding $110 million, and it seems Kate is the chosen one to receive these luxurious treasures.
Meghan Markle, however, is reportedly not in the running to receive any of the late monarch’s prized possessions.
Sources close to the royal family have revealed whispers indicating that before her passing, Queen Elizabeth may have adjusted her will, likely to benefit the Duchess of Cambridge.
This jewelry collection isn’t merely a part of the Crown’s assets; rather, it comprises 300 personal items that belong solely to the Queen herself.
That distinction carries significant weight, considering the personal history attached to each piece.
In July, discussions circulated that the Queen had been deliberating over which pieces of her jewelry to leave to whom.
An insider disclosed to RadarOnline.com, “She’s deep into thinking about her cherished items and assessing who truly deserves what.” This suggests that Queen Elizabeth was intent on ensuring her legacy remained in favor of those she held dear.
Kate Middleton’s prospective inheritance is likely to stir some discontent among other royals.
The source stated, “Kate is clearly the family favorite,” hinting at how this decision might provoke feelings of jealousy from other family members, including Queen Camilla and Meghan Markle, as well as their partners, King Charles and Prince Harry.
Interestingly, it appears that Camilla, now officially titled Queen Consort, has harbored some unacknowledged jealousy regarding Kate’s special relationship with the late Queen.
A source explained, “Camilla wouldn’t voice her feelings, but it’s undoubtedly one of the reasons she felt a twinge of resentment toward Kate.”
It’s not just Camilla who might not be pleased with the Queen’s decisions.
With reports indicating that Meghan and her daughter, Lilibet, may not receive any valuable jewels, this too could lead to a rift.
“There’s a strong possibility that the Queen intended to leave nothing significant for them,” the source revealed.
“Given that neither of them are truly part of the royal family anymore, it seems fitting, but it would still feel like a sharp blow.”
While Kate is poised to keep some of the gems and potentially pass them down to her daughter, Princess Charlotte, she and Prince William apparently remain steadfast in their desire for Lilibet not to feel excluded.
The insider added, “Kate and William truly don’t want Lilibet to feel left out.
It’s an important consideration for them.”
But if the Queen ultimately decides to exclude Meghan from the will, some observers suggest it wouldn’t stem from malice.
“Some believe it would be a practical decision rather than vindictive,” the insider indicated.
Others opined that it could serve as a timely message from the Queen to Meghan and Harry, highlighting the importance of consequences related to their choices.
Queen Elizabeth passed away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle, surrounded by her family.
Interestingly, the royal family opted to delay announcing her death until all of her children and Prince William were present.
However, Prince Harry was still en route when the announcement was made, leaving a significant gap in family dynamics during such a poignant moment.
As the dust settles around the royal family’s new hierarchy, and Kate Williamson appears poised to step into her new role with style, one can’t help but wonder how the shifting alliances and inheritances might leave an impact in the long term.
Will the power dynamics change with this new legacy, or will the royal family continue to navigate their complexities as always?
