On October 9th, gave a candid glimpse into family life that many can relate to.

While at an event celebrating the Prince William BAFTA Bursary Fund, he shared that his children—, , and —often find themselves in a familiar sibling tussle: fighting over the television remote.

The occasion took place at BAFTA’s National Film and TV School, where William joined forces with industry figures to support young talent in the arts.

When chatting with students, he humorously noted, “the children wrestle over the remote control,” highlighting the universal chaos that many households experience when it’s time to choose what show or movie to watch.

William, who clearly enjoys cinema, expressed his appreciation for the diverse range of films available.

He remarked, “What I love about films is there are so many different varieties.

You can have such an extreme mix,” pointing out how unpredictability keeps films engaging and enjoyable.

In a lighter exchange, William quizzed director Paul Greengrass about the potential for another installment in the Jason Bourne series.

The prince’s enthusiasm was evident as he exclaimed, “Another Bourne!

Another Bourne!” However, Greengrass humorously countered, suggesting it’s time for someone younger to take the reins.

The royal dad also mingled with notable actors like Stephen Merchant, Andy Serkis, and Celia Imrie during the event, reinforcing the importance of artistic mentorship and opportunity for aspiring filmmakers.

With three children under the age of 12, William and his wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, have implemented measures to manage screen time in their household.

He mentioned how fascinated the kids are with television, explaining, “They’re fascinated by it,” which adds to the challenge of keeping their usage in check amidst the sea of choices offered by modern technology.

Earlier this year, William and Kate shared a sweet snapshot on social media.

The photo showcased Charlotte and Louis enjoying a soccer match from their cozy living room in front of a relatively small TV—proof that royal kids experience the same cinematic adventures as their peers.

At the BAFTA event, William also highlighted George’s passion for video games, noting that while Louis and Charlotte are drawn to movies, there’s often disagreement among them about what to watch, a scenario that resonates with many parents.

The Prince William BAFTA Bursary Fund aims to empower youth from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue careers in film, television, and gaming.

The bursary offers financial support of up to £2,000, underscoring William’s commitment to opening doors for the next generation of creative talent.

William’s passion for film and the arts didn’t go unnoticed.

Greengrass commended his efforts, stating, “Prince William does such an amazing job… creating pathways for young people,” emphasizing the pressing need for accessible opportunities in the industry.

Also on the table during discussions was William’s admiration for Merchant’s crime-thriller-comedy series, The Outlaws.

He noted, “I’ve been watching that a lot, I think we have a similar sense of humor,” showcasing his appreciation for the relevance of contemporary television programming.

The candid interactions at the event shed light on the prince’s underlying philosophy: art and storytelling are powerful tools that can ignite passion and drive in young people.

As the continues to navigate the complexities of parenting, they remain relatable figures, illustrating that the everyday struggles of sibling rivalry over what to watch on TV are, in fact, a common thread—no matter how royal the household may be.
