Margot Robbie, the renowned 32-year-old actress from ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ recently disclosed that she took Brad Pitt by surprise with an unexpected kiss during the filming of their latest movie.
Portraying the role of Nellie LaRoy, a self-destructive silent film star set in the debauched Hollywood of the Roaring Twenties, Robbie shared this intriguing tidbit as reported by aceshowbiz.com.
Contrary to initial claims, it was revealed in December by Brad Pitt himself that he personally requested the incorporation of a kissing scene with his co-star Robbie into the script of their film.
The revelation unfolded during an interview on the Australian news show ‘The Project.’
Recalling the incident, Robbie candidly shared with W magazine, “In ‘Babylon’, Nellie engages in various kisses throughout the storyline.
I actually took the liberty to improvise a kiss that was not part of the original script.”
Describing the impulsive act further, she added, “During a party scene, Nellie approaches Brad Pitt’s character and Katherine Waterston’s character, and I thought, ‘Why not?
Let’s just go for it and see what happens.’
Their reactions were quite unexpected, and I am unsure if that particular moment made it to the final cut of the movie.”
Brad Pitt acknowledged the unscripted kiss during his appearance on ‘The Project’ and expressed his eagerness to seize the unique opportunity to share a kiss with Margot.
He confessed, “No, it wasn’t scripted.
I proposed the idea, hoping we could incorporate it into the film.
When else would such a chance arise?
We went ahead with it.
Additionally, Nellie, Margot’s character, shares kisses with 15 individuals in this production.”
Following his divorce from Angelina Jolie in 2019, Brad Pitt is reportedly romantically involved with 32-year-old jewelry executive Ines de Ramon.
Meanwhile, Margot Robbie has been happily married to 32-year-old film producer Tom Ackerley since 2016.
Reflecting on the unexpected kiss, Margot disclosed to E!
News earlier in December, “Although it wasn’t scripted, I felt it was a unique moment to share a kiss with Brad Pitt.
I decided to take the initiative and suggested to Damien Chazelle, the director, that Nellie should impulsively kiss Jack, Brad’s character.”
She humorously recounted, “Damien’s initial reaction was amusing, as he realized my underlying motive.
However, he agreed that the spontaneous gesture aligned well with the character, giving us the green light to proceed.”
Describing the experience of kissing Brad as “simply delightful,” Margot welcomed the director’s request for a re-take with enthusiasm.
