Kiefer Sutherland Faces Assault Charges After Alleged Head-Butt

Has Kiefer Sutherland taken his tough-guy persona from the screen to the streets?

The renowned actor, known for his role as Jack Bauer on “24,” found himself in hot water after reportedly head-butting fashion designer Jack McCollough outside a nightclub in New York City.

If the situation had involved imminent danger like a bomb threat or a potential disaster, Sutherland’s aggressive move might have been somewhat justifiable.

Picture it: a dramatic collar-grab and a menacing growl to add to the effect.

However, McCollough insists he was simply going about his own business without posing any harm to others.

Claiming that he got carried away in a role-playing moment may not serve as a valid defense.

Consequently, Sutherland faced a misdemeanor assault charge following his visit to a New York City police station for questioning on Thursday.

He was issued a citation, scheduled to appear in court on June 22, and then released.

A spokesperson for Jack McCollough, the designer from Proenza Schouler, conveyed to People magazine that McCollough is far from being a troublemaker.

The representative insisted that McCollough was an innocent victim of an unexpected and violent attack that has now become a legal matter.

Reports suggest that McCollough accidentally bumped into actress Brooke Shields outside the SubMercer nightclub in New York City on Tuesday night.

Allegedly, McCollough failed to apologize, triggering Sutherland’s aggressive reaction.

However, Shields’ representatives deny any wrongdoing on McCollough’s part, emphasizing his friendly relationship with the actress.

Sutherland faces potentially severe consequences in Los Angeles due to his ongoing five-year probation stemming from a previous DUI conviction.

The terms of his probation explicitly require him to abide by all laws.

Violating these terms could lead to a return to incarceration.

In the past, Sutherland spent 48 days in jail for a second DUI conviction and a subsequent breach of probation between late 2007 and early 2008.

This recent incident involving the alleged head-b*tt adds to Sutherland’s history of legal entanglements.

His first encounter with the law dates back to 1989 when he was apprehended for driving under the influence and carrying a concealed, loaded weapon.

Through a plea agreement with prosecutors, Sutherland admitted to
