Actor Shia LaBeouf Detained for Public Intoxication and Disorderly Behavior

Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf found himself in trouble early Saturday morning in Georgia, where he was arrested for behaving aggressively towards a police officer while appearing to be drunk, according to law enforcement officials.

At the age of 31, the renowned “Transformers” celebrity was escorted to Chatham County Jail at approximately 4 a.m.

ET by Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department officers.

LaBeouf faced charges of public intoxication, obstruction, and disorderly conduct, with his bail being established at $7,000 based on his booking record.

Prior to the arrest incident, it was reported that LaBeouf had approached a bystander and an officer to request a cigarette.

However, when his request was denied, he reportedly became unruly, using foul language in the presence of women and children.

Despite being instructed to vacate the premises, he defied the order and exhibited aggressive behavior towards the officer, as stated by the Savannah-Chatham police.

Upon the attempt by the officer to apprehend LaBeouf, he fled into a nearby hotel and was subsequently detained in the lobby, where his disorderly conduct persisted.

LaBeouf had been stationed in Savannah for the filming of his upcoming movie, “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” alongside co-stars Dakota Johnson and Bruce Dern.

This recent legal entanglement follows a previous altercation in January at his outdoor art installation in New York City before Donald Trump’s inauguration as president.

Known as “He Will Not Divide Us,” the art project was streamed live to capture an incident where LaBeouf allegedly pulled a man by his scarf, causing him to fall after scratching his face.

The conflict, although occurring at the installation, was not directly linked to the political nature of the exhibit.

Throughout the years, LaBeouf has encountered multiple run-ins with law enforcement, including arrests in 2015 in Austin, Texas, for public intoxication and jaywalking, in 2014 outside a Broadway show in New York for disruptive behavior, smoking, and shouting, and in 2008 in West Hollywood, California, for driving under the influence.

Following the 2014 incident, LaBeouf’s spokesperson informed PEOPLE magazine that the actor acknowledged his actions as indicative of broader health concerns and had begun addressing his alcohol dependency through treatment voluntarily.
