A massage therapist from Portland disclosed to local authorities that she was reportedly groped, kissed, and faced unwelcome advances by former Vice President Al Gore during a late-night massage session in October 2006.

The incident allegedly took place in a suite at a high-end establishment, as per the detailed statement provided by the woman.

According to the woman, she was summoned to the hotel around 10:30 p.m. on October 24, 2006, to administer a massage to Gore, who had registered under the alias “Mr.

Stone.”

Once inside his ninth-floor suite, she claimed that he made inappropriate physical gestures towards her, including pushing her hand towards his groin, touching her buttocks and bre-sts, engaging in tongue-kissing, and forcefully positioning her on the bed while she resisted his advances.

The woman further mentioned that Gore consumed alcohol during the encounter, finishing a beer and opening a bottle of Grand Marnier in her presence.

Despite her account, the Portland Police Bureau stated that the case was not pursued beyond initial investigations due to insufficient evidence supporting the allegations.

While the police classified the case as closed, they expressed willingness to reopen it if new evidence surfaces.

Police spokesperson Detective Mary Wheat clarified that they did not involve the woman’s friends or visit the hotel as these actions were deemed irrelevant to confirming or negating the woman’s claims.

The Multnomah County district attorney’s office acknowledged receiving a complaint from the woman’s attorney post the incident but revealed that the woman failed to attend scheduled interviews with police investigators.

Instead, she indicated a preference for pursuing civil action over criminal charges.

In response to the allegations, a representative for the Gore family, Kalee Kreider, declined to provide any comments.

The massage therapist, a 54-year-old residing in Southeast Portland, chose not to engage with a reporter from The Oregonian when approached, citing privacy concerns.

In her statement to a Portland detective in 2009, the therapist recounted feeling intimidated and distressed during the encounter with Gore.

She narrated instances where Gore allegedly made unwanted advances, leading her to feel shocked and terrified by his behavior, which she described as contradictory to his public image.

The therapist expressed reluctance to escalate the matter to law enforcement initially due to fears of being disbelieved and facing public scrutiny.

She emphasized seeking justice rather than financial gain, highlighting the importance of holding individuals in positions of power accountable for their actions.

Legal experts noted that the statute of limitations for potential charges related to the incident extended beyond the time of the reported incident, leaving room for legal action until 2013 if pursued.

However, no civil lawsuit had been initiated by the woman in connection to the alleged misconduct.
