Angelina Jolie’s ‘Symbolic Bond’ to Brad Pitt Through Tattoos Before Breakup

Angelina Jolie decided to get special tattoos on her back in Thailand as a symbolic gesture to connect herself with her husband, Brad Pitt, just months before their separation.

Despite their split last September after twelve years together, recent pictures from February 2016 reveal Angelina receiving Sak yant tattoos alongside Brad, indicating a seemingly harmonious period shortly before the relationship hit rocky waters.

During a break from filming Netflix’s “First They Killed My Father” in Cambodia, Angelina had three ‘magical’ tattoos done on her back by ex Thai monk Ajarn Noo Kanpai.

This ritual was intended to symbolically bind her to Brad Pitt through the intricate designs etched onto her skin.

The process of getting these tattoos involved using steel rods mounted with a surgical needle, which is known to be more painful yet believed to be more precise compared to conventional tattooing methods.

Correspondingly, Brad also underwent the same procedure, receiving a Buddhist symbol tattoo on his left stomach.

Ironically, the purpose behind the couple’s tattoos was to signify their union as husband and wife, creating a sentimental link between them through permanent ink.

These newly added tattoos contribute to Angelina’s extensive collection, with Kanpai having previously tattooed her shoulder blade in 2003.

Known for his intricate designs, Ajarn Noo Kanpai’s tattoos are highly sought after and come with a hefty price tag, attracting various celebrities like model Cara Delevingne and actress Michelle Rodriguez seeking his artistry.

Currently, Brad and Angelina are entangled in a heated custody battle involving their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Despite their personal turmoil, Angelina recently made a public appearance to promote her upcoming Netflix movie, inspired by the wartime experiences of her friend and Cambodian human-rights activist Loung Ung during her childhood.

Expressing her gratitude for working on the film, Angelina emphasized the importance of recognizing the struggles faced by children worldwide.

The movie, “First They Killed My Father,” is scheduled for a global release on Netflix later this year.
