Biggie’s Playful Water Bottle Toss at DJ Big Kap Goes Viral

Recently, a video emerged from 1995 showcasing DJ Big Kap spinning tracks behind The Notorious B.I.G.

at KMEL’s Summer Jam concert.

The scorching heat caused Kap’s vinyl records to warp while he was in the midst of his set, resulting in a chaotic turn of events.

The situation irked Biggie to the point where he playfully hurled a water bottle towards Kap during their performance.

In a recent interview with The Fader magazine, Kap reminisces about the incident with a sense of nostalgia.

As I’m playing the records, it’s all good, we’re making it work.

However, the intense heat starts warping the vinyl.

The records are literally melting before my eyes!

They’re warping right in front of me, making this distinct “wooommp” sound.

Biggie is staring at me.

We had an agreement that every mistake on stage would cost $100.

So, during the show, upon hearing the first “womp,” Biggie declared, “That’s a hundred dollars!”

The record starts disintegrating before me.

Then it worsens, and [Lil’] Cease chimes in, “Two hundred dollars!”

At that point, Biggie halts everything and exclaims, “What the heck is happening?!”

I glance back, and my records resemble sizzling bacon strips.

Biggie is visibly annoyed!

He grabs a water bottle, tosses it in my direction, and exits the stage.

Despite his outward frustration, Biggie’s actions were more for entertainment purposes, as revealed by Kap.

Later, I knocked on Biggie’s room door, and when he opened it, he was chuckling!

He had several girls in the room too!

Feeling sheepish, I apologized, saying, “I’m sorry for all that.”

He responded, “Man, I knew what was happening!

I saw those records.

I knew it was the sun and all that.

But I couldn’t let them think that I was the one messing up out there!”

Don’t miss the video capturing this amusing incident!
