Brass Against Frontwoman Apologizes for Onstage Act: Denies Being a Shock Artist

Sophia Urista, the lead singer of Brass Against, has issued an apology following a controversial incident where she urinated on a fan during a live performance that went viral.

The incident occurred at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Florida over the weekend while the band was on stage performing.

A video capturing Urista urinating on a male fan’s face while singing a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Wake Up’ quickly gained traction online.

In response to the backlash, the band released a statement expressing regret for the incident, attributing Urista’s actions to getting carried away and assuring that such behavior would not be repeated at their future shows.

Subsequently, the Daytona Beach Police initiated an investigation into the matter to determine if any indecent exposure laws were violated during the performance.

Taking to social media, Urista personally addressed the situation, acknowledging her tendency to push boundaries in music and onstage performances.

She admitted to overstepping the line at the Rockville metal festival and expressed remorse for any hurt or offense caused to fans.

Clarifying her stance, Urista emphasized that she does not consider herself a shock artist and always prioritizes the music above all else.

She extended her apologies to those who were affected by her actions and reiterated her love and appreciation for her family, bandmates, and supporters.

Looking ahead, Brass Against is set to embark on a series of live shows in the UK and Europe next year, where they will be supporting Tool on their upcoming headline tour.

The band’s renditions of Tool’s songs, particularly ‘The Pot’ and ‘Lateralus,’ caught the attention of Tool themselves, leading to an invitation to join them on tour.

Excited about the opportunity, Brass Against shared their enthusiasm online, announcing their role as special guests on Tool’s European tour in the spring.
