Courteney Cox’s Journey: From Fillers to Self-Acceptance

Courteney Cox delves into the ripple effects of fillers, shedding light on her personal experience and transformation.

In a recent feature on the Gloss Angeles podcast, the renowned actress from Friends and Scream VI delved into her distorted self-perception prior to opting for filler dissolution.

Revealing a snippet of the forthcoming episode, shared on the podcast’s Instagram page on March 7, Cox described the phenomenon as a “domino effect.”

She articulated, “It’s like you don’t realize that you look a little off, so then you keep doing more cause you look normal to yourself.”

At 58 years old, Cox candidly expressed, “You look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh, that looks good,’ you think, and you don’t realize what it looks like to the outside person, and just doing too many fillers and having to have them removed—which thank God they are removable—I think I messed up a lot and now luckily I can.

I was able to reverse most of that, now I’m actually just older.”

The actress initially broached the topic of her regrets regarding plastic surgery during a 2016 segment on NBC’s Running Wild.

Addressing host Bear Grylls, she acknowledged the societal pressure to maintain one’s appearance, particularly prevalent in the entertainment industry.

Cox confessed, “Getting older, I don’t think that’s the easiest thing.

But I have learned lessons.

I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that.

It’s something you can’t keep up with.”

Reflecting further, she added, “Sometimes you find yourself trying, and then you look at a picture of yourself and you go, ‘Oh God, I look horrible.’ I have done things that I regret, and luckily there are things that dissolve and go away.

So that’s good because it’s not always been my best look.” Subsequently, in 2017, she confirmed the removal of all facial fillers.
