Flying Solo: Prince George to Fly Separate from Prince William Once He Turns 12

There have been recent stirrings in the royal household concerning Prince William and Kate Middleton’s use of the royal helicopter to shuttle their family between their country residence and London.

It’s almost like they’re just regular folks facing ordinary dilemmas!

In a nutshell, Queen Elizabeth has expressed concerns about the frequency with which the Cambridges have been flying as a family for safety reasons.

Despite her directives, they went ahead and used the helicopter for a brief getaway, prompting the Queen to request a meeting with them at the palace.

A key aspect of royal etiquette dictates who can accompany whom and at what age, and this will soon pose a challenge for Prince George flying with his father.

The protocol stipulates that two or more heirs to the throne should not travel together to safeguard the monarchy.

Nonetheless, the Queen has made exceptions for young children like Prince George in the past.

However, once Prince George reaches the age of 12, the Queen will be unable to bypass this protocol, meaning he and Prince William will be barred from traveling together by air under any circumstances.

This same rule applies to Prince William and Prince Charles, who fly separately, as well as Prince Charles and the Queen.

Delving deeper into the tension between Her Majesty and the Cambridges, reports indicate that despite being advised against using the helicopter frequently, William and Kate were spotted boarding it with their children.

Royal expert Neil Sean hinted at repercussions, stating, “When Prince William and Catherine return from their short trip, they will be called to Windsor to account for their actions.”

One can only imagine the high-society drama unfolding during that conversation.
