Graceland’s Hidden Secrets: Revealing the Truth Behind Elvis Presley’s Underground Tunnel

Elvis Presley’s iconic residence, Graceland, is a popular tourist attraction, but there are areas within the mansion that remain shrouded in mystery.

One such area is his private space upstairs, and there have been whispers about a secret underground tunnel at the Memphis estate.

Recently, Elvis’ cousin Billy Smith, who resided at Graceland, addressed these rumors in a candid interview.

Billy shared an intriguing tidbit, mentioning how Elvis would allegedly sneak Marilyn Monroe and other companions through this supposed underground passage.

However, he quickly revealed that it was all in jest, emphasizing that it was merely a playful fabrication.

Dismissing the notion of a hidden tunnel, Billy bluntly stated, “And if that ain’t a bunch of crap!”

Despite the absence of a clandestine tunnel, what truly captivates enthusiasts is the pristine preservation of Graceland’s upstairs area, where Elvis spent his final moments.

Following his untimely passing on August 16, 1977, Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’ daughter, has insisted on maintaining these private quarters exactly as her father left them.

Every detail, no matter how insignificant, is meticulously upheld, from a styrofoam cup perched on a bookshelf to the last record played by The King, which still rests in the player.

The vinyl in question happens to be a recent recording by JD Sumner and The Stamps, offering a glimpse into Elvis’ musical preferences in his final days.

Upstairs at Graceland encompasses Elvis’ bedroom, bathroom, and office, as well as Lisa Marie’s personal sleeping quarters.

Despite being the current owner of Graceland, Lisa Marie retains a key to this secluded area and occasionally visits for her own solace.
