Jake Gyllenhaal Reveals His Minimalistic Approach to Bathing

Have you ever thought about cutting down on shower time?

Well, it seems like actor and heartthrob, Jake Gyllenhaal, has.

Recently, in an interview with Vanity Fair, the Academy Award-nominated star shared his unconventional views on bathing.

Gyllenhaal openly admitted that he is not particularly enthusiastic about the whole bathing routine.

He expressed his evolving perspective by stating that he finds bathing less necessary at times.

However, he clarified that oral hygiene is still a priority for him, emphasizing the importance of good manners and fresh breath.

The actor attributed his reduced bathing frequency to skin health benefits.

According to Gyllenhaal, there is a whole realm of advantages to be gained from not over-bathing as our bodies have a natural way of cleansing themselves.

During the interview, Gyllenhaal also discussed his fascination with loofahs, particularly those made from natural sources like the gourd in the cucumber family.

He marveled at the fact that these seemingly factory-made accessories are actually derived from nature, a concept that has intrigued him since childhood.

The conversation steered towards Gyllenhaal’s involvement in Prada’s latest fragrance campaign, inspired by the Italian sailing team.

The campaign was shot on a sailing boat, highlighting the actor’s affinity for aquatic themes.

When asked about significant water-related experiences in New York City, Gyllenhaal humorously pointed out that most of his encounters with water are through showering.

He did mention one spa, Aire, known for its underground water features, where he had visited a few times.

Interestingly, Gyllenhaal’s stance on bathing aligns with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’ recent revelations about their minimalistic approach to hygiene.

Kutcher stated that he only uses soap on his armpits and crotch, while Kunis emphasized her daily face-washing routine.

The couple extended this practice to their children, advocating for soap usage only when visible dirt is present.

Kutcher emphasized the simplicity of cleanliness, suggesting that unnecessary bathing serves no purpose unless cleanliness is visibly compromised.
