In a resurfaced interview, singer Jennifer Lopez openly criticized Ben Affleck’s large back tattoo, just days after rekindling her romance with the Hollywood star.
Back in 2016 on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the 52-year-old artist humorously expressed her genuine thoughts on Affleck’s extensive phoenix-shaped back tattoo.
“It’s terrible!”
she playfully exclaimed.
“I mean, I would definitely tell him that.
I’d be like, ‘What were you thinking?’”
Lopez, known for hits like “Cambia el Paso,” pointed out, “It’s too vibrant.
His tattoos always seem to have too many colors.
They shouldn’t be so colorful; they should be more stylish, you know?”
Affleck surprised many when he revealed the multicolored tattoo that covered his entire back while filming Live by Night.
Following a highly publicized separation from actress Jennifer Garner, his wife of a decade, the Justice League actor initially claimed the tattoo was a prop for a movie.
However, during a 2019 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Affleck admitted the ink was permanent and held personal significance for him.
Describing the phoenix tattoo as something deeply meaningful, he shared, “It’s private to me.
It wasn’t like I was doing photoshoots.
We were on an island in Hawaii, unaware of paparazzi presence.”
Lopez wasn’t the only one unimpressed by Affleck’s body art as his ex-wife Garner also made a lighthearted comment about it.
“In my hometown, we’d say, ‘Bless his heart’ about that,” Garner remarked at the time.
“A phoenix rising from the ashes.
Am I the ashes here?
I disagree.
I won’t be the ashes.”
