Julia Roberts Stands by Her Decision to Keep Clothes On in Films

Renowned actress Julia Roberts proudly declares that she has maintained a wholesome image throughout her career by consistently refusing to bare it all on screen.

The 56-year-old star, best known for her iconic role as a prostitute in ‘Pretty Woman’, emphasized that her choice to remain clothed in movies has been a deliberate decision on her part.

She clarified, however, that her personal stance should not be interpreted as a criticism of fellow actors who opt for more revealing roles.

In an exclusive interview for the February edition of British Vogue, Roberts candidly shared her perspective on this matter, stating, “For me, choosing not to disrobe or expose myself physically on screen is a conscious decision that aligns with my values.” She further expounded, “While I respect others’ choices, I have consciously opted for modesty in my performances.”

Reflecting on her lineage and a recent revelation from a genealogical exploration conducted with Dr. Henry Gates, Roberts humorously disclosed a surprising connection to the legendary feminist Gloria Steinem.

Amusingly, she remarked, “To my astonishment, Dr. Gates revealed that I am genetically related to Gloria Steinem, the iconic feminist leader.

This unexpected discovery certainly adds an interesting dimension to my family tree.”

Additionally, the accomplished actress, who shares three children with her husband Daniel Moder, a cinematographer aged 54, expressed her views on the evolution of fame in the entertainment industry.

Roberts acknowledged the challenges associated with modern-day stardom, contrasting it with her own journey to prominence.

She remarked, “The landscape of fame has drastically transformed since my early days in the industry.

The current environment appears overwhelming and cluttered compared to the structured path I navigated.”

Describing the intricacies of achieving success in show business, Roberts reminisced about a simpler era where talent and perseverance were key ingredients for advancement.

She mused, “During my time, the progression seemed more straightforward – auditioning, securing roles, honing one’s craft, and gradually building a career through meaningful connections.” Comparing the past to the present, she noted, “Today’s landscape feels chaotic, with an abundance of distractions and avenues for exposure.”

In essence, Julia Roberts remains steadfast in her commitment to maintaining a dignified presence on screen, emphasizing that her decision to eschew n^dty in films is a personal choice rooted in her values and principles.

As she navigates the ever-evolving entertainment industry, she reflects on the changes that have shaped the modern concept of fame, all while cherishing the simplicity and structure of her own rise to stardom.
