**Kate Middleton Left Heartbroken as Prince William Alters New Year Plans**

In the initial stages of their relationship, and Kate had a tradition of spending Christmas separately with their own families and then reuniting to celebrate New Year’s.

However, there was one particular year when this routine was disrupted, leading to Kate feeling deeply upset, as per revelations in a recent book.

Deciding where to spend the festive season can be a challenging decision for many families, including the .

Prior to tying the knot, Kate was not allowed to join the royal family at Sandringham for Christmas.

Consequently, in 2006, even after several years of courtship, she and Prince William spent December 25 apart.

Despite being separated during Christmas, it was anticipated that they would come together for a special New Year celebration.

Nonetheless, a book discloses that Kate was left overwhelmed with emotions when William unexpectedly changed his plans, causing her distress about the future of their relationship.

The book, titled *The Making of a Royal Romance*, released in 2011 by reputable author Katie Nicholl, reveals that William had assured Kate he would be with her family for New Year’s.

However, he ultimately chose to remain with his own family, conveying this decision to Kate over a phone call on Boxing Day.

In the book, Katie writes about how William had deliberated on his commitment to Kate, seeking advice from his father and grandmother, who advised him not to rush into any decisions.

Following this incident, in 2007, Kate and William went through a brief split, which was reportedly disappointing to the late Queen.

Despite the temporary separation, signs of reconciliation surfaced shortly afterward when William and Kate were spotted sharing a kiss at an army event in Dorset.

Subsequently, in July 2007, Kate, accompanied by her brother James, attended the Concert for Diana at Wembley, commemorating a decade since ‘s passing.

Their romance quickly reignited, leading to Kate moving into William’s residence at Clarence House, where they spent weekends together after his military duties.

This marked the beginning of a journey that culminated in their engagement announcement in 2010 and subsequent marriage in April 2011.

Nearly thirteen years later, the couple remains happily married with three children – , , and .

As the Christmas season approached, the question arose regarding what gifts the couple’s children, aged 10, eight, and five, would receive.

It is reported that Kate prefers to offer her children practical presents over extravagant technological gadgets to limit their screen time, ensuring a healthy balance in their upbringing.
