Lisa Marie Presley’s Tragic Demise Linked to Weight Loss Surgery Complications

The unexpected passing of Lisa Marie Presley, the renowned singer and daughter of Elvis Presley, has been attributed to complications arising from bariatric surgery she underwent several years ago, as confirmed by officials on Thursday.

At 54 years old, the beloved artist succumbed to natural causes associated with a minor bowel obstruction.

Revealed in an autopsy report disclosed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office, further insights into the circumstances surrounding Presley’s demise shed light on the common challenges linked to bariatric surgery, a procedure commonly utilized for weight loss purposes when alternative methods fail or in the presence of severe health conditions.

Following a distress call reporting a woman in cardiac arrest at her residence, Presley was swiftly transported to a Los Angeles medical facility by emergency responders, where she eventually passed away.

The autopsy report indicated that she had been experiencing abdominal discomfort earlier on the day of her demise.

In a poignant ceremony held on January 22 at Graceland, the iconic former abode of Elvis Presley that now stands as a museum and tribute site for his admirers, Lisa Marie Presley was laid to rest.

Survived by her three daughters, including the accomplished actor Riley Keough from “Daisy Jones & the Six” and her teenage twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, Presley also mourned the loss of her son Benjamin Keough in 2020.

In the wake of her untimely death, speculations arose regarding the inheritance disputes over Presley’s estate.

Soon after her funeral, her mother, Priscilla Presley, contested a modification made in 2016 to Lisa Marie’s living trust, which eliminated Priscilla and a former business manager as trustees, appointing her two eldest children instead.

However, an amicable resolution was reached between Priscilla and Riley Keough, who now serves as the sole trustee.

Noteworthy achievements continue within the family as Riley Keough received her first Emmy nomination for best actress in a limited series or TV movie for her role in “Daisy Jones & the Six,” marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career.
