Alison Carey, who is known to be the estranged sister of renowned pop sensation Mariah Carey, was apprehended on Friday at a Saugerties, New York hotel, as reported by the Daily Freeman.
The police managed to capture her after an officer posed as a potential client.
Following her arrest, Alison reportedly informed the authorities about her connection with the Grammy-winning celebrity, revealed Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra in a conversation with the local publication.
Sinagra characterized Alison as a “transient” individual.
Sources close to Mariah Carey’s circle suggested to People that the news of Alison’s arrest must be deeply distressing for the music icon, noting the prolonged separation between the siblings.
The insider stated that Mariah has been a significant provider for their entire family.
According to the police report, Alison was detected promoting her services online.
An advertisement posted by her on the same day of the arrest mentioned, “I’m a beautiful woman seeking men interested in experiencing unique pleasures that other women can’t offer you.”
Notably, Alison purportedly made a reference to her sister’s popular 1995 track “Fantasy” in the advertisement.
In addition to the details of her online solicitations, Sinagra, as cited by the Daily Freeman, issued a cautionary note suggesting individuals who engaged in intimate activities with Alison in the past should consider consulting medical professionals, especially if protection was not used.
Following her arraignment at Saugerties Town Court, Alison was remanded to Ulster County Jail, as per the local accounts.
Her bail has been established at $1,000, and a court appearance is scheduled for August 30th.
