Mark Ruffalo has revealed that he utilized a prosthetic to amplify his size by a significant “four inches” in his recent n^de appearance.
The well-known actor starred alongside Emma Stone in the eccentric science fiction film, Poor Things, slated for release on January 12, 2024.
Critics who attended the premiere in September lauded Emma for her bold portrayal in intimate scenes, hailing her character as one of the most daring figures in cinematic history.
Despite accolades for Emma’s uninhibited performance, Mark, aged 56, expressed discomfort about engaging in on-screen intimacy.
During a conversation with Robert Downey Jr as part of Variety’s Actors on Actors series, Mark humorously shared his apprehensions, stating, “I was like, ‘Do I have to?’ All I can hear is, ‘Nobody wants to see your old a** anymore.”

Director Yorgos Lanthimos proposed a unique solution to enhance Mark’s physique and augment his aging posterior for the n^de sequence.
Mark candidly disclosed, “Do you know I had an a** pad in?
My legs were like four inches bigger… [Lanthimos] really wanted the silhouette.”
In addition to the enhancements for his backside, Mark also wore prosthetics to emulate the muscular legs of a superhero, donning “leg pads, thigh pads, calf pads.”
He revealed, “So when you look at that and you’re like, ‘Wow, he looks great’ – now you know, I was just wearing what the Avengers wear, but underneath my clothes.”
