A recent lawsuit has been filed against boxing icon Mike Tyson by a woman who claims he violently raped her in a limousine after meeting at a popular Albany nightclub during the early 1990s.
The unidentified plaintiff is seeking $5 million in compensation, citing enduring “physical, psychological, and emotional injury” stemming from the alleged assault.
The legal complaint, disclosed by The Post, lacks a specific date for the incident but indicates it occurred in the early 1990s, coinciding with another rape accusation made by Desiree Washington in Indianapolis.
Tyson, now 56, was convicted of raping Washington on February 10, 1992, leading to a three-year prison sentence.
Despite this conviction, Tyson has consistently professed his innocence in that particular case.
The lawsuit, filed in upstate New York under the state’s recent Adult Survivors Act, permits survivors of s**ual assault to pursue legal action within a one-year timeframe, even for incidents dating back many years.
According to the accuser, she encountered Tyson at a former local establishment called “Septembers” before entering his limo under the guise of him offering to transport her and a friend to a party.
Allegedly, Tyson began making advances immediately, to which she expressed refusal and requested him to desist.
However, the situation escalated as Tyson purportedly proceeded to forcibly remove her pants and s**ually assault her.
Notably, details regarding the presence of Tyson’s driver during the alleged assault or the stationary status of the limousine remain undisclosed in the legal documents.
The woman is adamant about preserving her anonymity, fearing potential mental distress, harassment, or ridicule should her identity be revealed.
Legal representative Darren Seilback affirmed that the woman’s claims were extensively investigated and deemed highly credible, underscoring the thoroughness of the assessment process.
Although Tyson achieved global recognition as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, his personal life has been marred by numerous controversies and battles with addiction.
Reports from Tyson’s previous marriages paint a tumultuous picture, with allegations of violence and infidelity surfacing in divorce proceedings with actress Robin Givens and Monica Turner.
In 2009, Tyson entered into matrimony with Monica Spicer following her release from prison, and they now share two children.
Additionally, Tyson has five older children from prior relationships.
