In the 1990s, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were the talk of Hollywood as a power couple until they parted ways in 2001.

Beyond the facade of their seemingly perfect relationship, Kidman carried a silent burden throughout their time together.

In the latest issue of Tatler magazine in the UK, the 50-year-old actress opened up about the challenges they faced, including two heartbreaking miscarriages that occurred during their marriage.

Following their marriage in 1990, Kidman experienced an ectopic pregnancy, and later in 2001, she suffered another miscarriage, coinciding with Cruise initiating divorce proceedings.

Expressing her emotions, Kidman shared, “There’s a profound yearning that I can’t shake off.

I understand that feeling intimately.”

She emphasized the significant impact of miscarriage on women, a subject she believes is not discussed openly enough.

Recalling the painful memories, Kidman disclosed in a 2007 interview with Vanity Fair that the loss of their first baby led them to adopt Isabella, now 25, and Connor, now 23.

“Right from the start of my marriage to Tom, I longed to start a family,” Kidman revealed.

“Experiencing the loss of our early pregnancy was incredibly distressing.

It was a pivotal moment that led us to adopt Bella.”
