Paul Bettany’s Hilarious Encounter: The Day Tom Hanks Broke Wind on The Da Vinci Code Set

In a delightful revelation, Paul Bettany shared a humorous anecdote about the time he inadvertently caused Tom Hanks to let out a loud fart on the set of The Da Vinci Code.

The esteemed Marvel actor, known for his role as Silas in the 2006 film adaptation of Dan Brown’s acclaimed novel, recounted the amusing incident during a recent appearance on The Late Late Show.

Describing the scene, Bettany recalled, “I had to grab him and I had to punch him in the stomach, and it’s very quiet on set.

It’s always more silent when there’s a stunt happening because everyone is concerned about potential injuries.”

He went on to explain, “So everybody’s listening, and I punched him in the stomach, and he farted really, really, really loudly.”

In a light-hearted manner, the 49-year-old actor admitted that he was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, saying, “I didn’t know what the protocol was.

How do you respond when the biggest movie star in the world lets one rip?”

Recounting the moment further, Bettany humorously shared, “I kind of looked at him, and he exclaimed, ‘What is wrong with you?

You just made me fart!’”

Reflecting on the humorous incident, Bettany jokingly remarked that he never quite reached such comedic heights again in his acting career.

Interestingly, Hanks himself had previously shared this comical tale during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, adding another layer of humor to the memorable on-set moment.

Currently captivating audiences alongside Elizabeth Olsen in Marvel’s groundbreaking TV series WandaVision, Bettany continues to showcase his versatile talent.

The highly-anticipated finale of the show premiered on Disney Plus today, marking a significant milestone in the world of entertainment.
