Priscilla Presley Sets the Record Straight on Relationship with Elvis Presley

Priscilla Presley recently addressed the nature of her relationship with Elvis Presley when she was 14 and he was 24.

Speaking at a press conference for Sofia Coppola’s biopic “Priscilla” during the Venice Film Festival, the actress emphasized that their connection was based on emotional intimacy rather than physical intimacy.

According to Priscilla, Elvis was drawn to her because she was a good listener who provided him with comfort and support.

She explained that their bond was built on heartfelt conversations where she played the role of a compassionate confidante.

Referring to herself as being “a little bit older in life, not in numbers” now at 78 years old, Priscilla clarified that Elvis, who she described as very kind, gentle, and loving, respected her age during their initial courtship.

Contrary to common assumptions, Priscilla emphasized that their relationship did not involve any s**ual activity during the early stages.

She stressed that she never engaged in any physical intimacy with Elvis at that time.

Priscilla also highlighted Elvis’ appreciation for her discretion regarding their romance.

She disclosed that she kept their relationship private and never revealed it to anyone during her school days.

The couple eventually tied the knot in May 1967 when Priscilla was 21 and Elvis was 32.

Their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was born in February the following year.

Despite their divorce in 1973, Priscilla expressed that Elvis remains the love of her life.

Reflecting on their separation, Priscilla acknowledged the challenges posed by their lifestyle but emphasized that it did not tarnish their deep connection.

She emphasized that they maintained a close relationship even after parting ways, ensuring that Elvis remained an active presence in their daughter’s life.

Priscilla praised Sofia Coppola’s portrayal of her and Elvis in the upcoming biopic “Priscilla” and expressed support for the film.

She also shared her enthusiasm for Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis,” which was released last year, starring Austin Butler.

While Priscilla and her daughter, Lisa Marie, were fans of these cinematic representations, Elvis’ estate has criticized the forthcoming biopic based on the memoir “Priscilla and Me,” labeling it as a money-driven project following the release of its trailer in June.
