Rose McGowan has identified Harvey Weinstein as the studio executive she had previously alluded to as her rapist.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, McGowan confirmed that Weinstein was the individual she had mentioned before in connection with the assault.

This revelation follows a series of tweets by McGowan targeting Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, where she claimed to have informed Amazon executives about her encounter with Weinstein.

In her initial tweet directed at Jeff Bezos, McGowan stated, “I told the head of your studio that HW raped me.

Over & over I said it.

He said it hadn’t been proven.

I said I was the proof.” McGowan’s public acknowledgment implicating Weinstein comes amidst her ongoing criticism of him and the broader Hollywood environment in light of multiple exposés by The New York Times and The New Yorker detailing numerous women’s accusations of s**ual harassment and assault against the former studio chief.

According to reports from The Times, McGowan reached a settlement with Weinstein back in 1997 following an incident in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival.

Although she did not participate in The Times’ investigation, McGowan has since become more vocal about her personal encounter, notably questioning, “Now am I allowed to say rapist?” in response to a tweet from Anthony Bourdain wondering if he could use that term in relation to Weinstein.

Weinstein has consistently refuted all claims of rape and s**ual misconduct leveled against him.

Sallie Hofmeister, a representative for Weinstein, reaffirmed his denial of any non-consensual s**ual activity in a statement provided to TIME.

She stated, “Any allegations of non-consensual s** are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.”
