Sally Field Reveals Burt Reynolds as the Worst Kisser in Candid Interview

In a surprising revelation, actress Sally Field disclosed that her former co-star and lover, Burt Reynolds, was not adept in the art of kissing.

During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” with host Andy Cohen, the iconic “Spoiler Alert” star playfully hinted at naming names when asked about her worst onscreen kiss, ultimately dropping the bombshell that it was Reynolds.

Field humorously remarked, “Oh boy, shall I really name names here?

Okay, brace yourselves: Burt Reynolds.”

She went on to explain, “It was just not something he excelled at.

I could provide more details, but let’s spare the specifics.”

Field candidly shared her experience of Reynolds exhibiting “a lot of drooling” while kissing her.

Despite this, Reynolds had previously declared Field as the “love of my life” in a 2015 interview published by Vanity Fair through People magazine, with Field acknowledging their immediate bond in her own words.

In her 2018 memoir titled “Pieces,” Field recounted how Reynolds underwent a transformation upon entering their relationship, noting that he became possessive about her past romantic involvements.

“I quickly learned to keep my past relationships under wraps and grew anxious about encountering anyone from my history, whether romantically involved or not,” Field recalled.

She described instances where Reynolds would aggressively inquire about her previous encounters, displaying signs of jealousy.

Reynolds, known for his challenging demeanor on set, faced criticism from his “Boogie Nights” co-star William H. Macy, who labeled him as “clueless” during filming.

Macy disclosed in a recent oral history of the film that Reynolds disparaged the project until receiving an Academy Award nomination.

Expressing his disdain for director Paul Thomas Anderson, Reynolds deemed him as “arrogant” and admitted to feeling the urge to physically confront him during the movie’s production.

Reflecting on his collaboration with Anderson, Reynolds lamented the repetitive nature of the filming process and criticized the director’s approach, recalling instances where Anderson appeared inexperienced despite his young age at the time of the film’s release.

Recollections from Anderson corroborate the tumultuous dynamic between him and Reynolds, reminiscing about intense confrontations that occurred during the filming of “Boogie Nights.”
