The real reason why Prince Andrew was booted out of the Royal Lodge

In a surprising twist for the , may soon be vacating his grand residence, Royal Lodge, due to claims that he’s neglected the property.

Royal biographer Angela Levin recently shared her insights on GB News, indicating that the state of the estate has significantly deteriorated.

Levin’s remarks painted a grim picture of Royal Lodge, describing it as being in “terrible shape.” This revelation comes at a time when reportedly decided to halt Andrew’s generous yearly allowance of £1 million, along with the funding for his private security detail.

Sources noted that these critical decisions were made after Andrew’s refusal to leave the expansive 30-room mansion located in Windsor Great Park, a property he shares with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson.

Angela Levin elaborated during her interview with Nana Akua, stating that King Charles had clearly indicated that as of November 1, there would be no more financial support for Andrew, including the costly security services.

She emphasized that there is no justification for such expenses since Andrew is not fulfilling any royal duties and has been remiss in maintaining the estate.

In her candid commentary, Levin highlighted the scale of the situation: “He lives in a vast mansion with his ex-wife, boasting 30 bedrooms, yet it’s in a shambles.”

She also noted that Andrew has shown a blatant disregard for the upkeep of the property.

“He has never really paid attention to it,” Levin remarked, hinting at a long-standing estrangement with the royal household.

With both King Charles and his brother distancing themselves from Andrew, questions arise about what will become of Royal Lodge.

Allegedly, even his daughters and , the Queen Consort, have little interest in the estate.

So, what does that leave for Andrew?

Levin suggested a significant renovation is necessary to bring the lodge back to its former glory, but there’s no clear plan for that as of yet.

Originally, Andrew secured a 75-year lease on the Royal Lodge back in 2003, but he is now under increasing pressure to downsize his living situation.

The estate comes with a hefty price tag; approximately £503,000 is needed annually just to maintain it.

This financial burden makes the prospect of living in such a large and demanding property unsustainable.

Despite the mounting pressure, Andrew has reportedly “dug his heels in,” choosing to remain at Royal Lodge even amid calls to move to the smaller Frogmore Cottage, which was previously the residence of and .

Broadcaster Helena Chard referred to Andrew’s defiance, painting a picture of a man unwilling to let go of his current living arrangements.

Royal analyst Michael Cole couldn’t help but observe that the recent termination of Andrew’s security contract creates a “real problem.”

Given the exorbitant costs associated with maintaining such a sizeable estate, this added pressure complicates matters even further.

As the family dynamics continue to evolve, the world watches closely to see how Prince Andrew will navigate this new landscape.

With no support from the royals and a property that has become a liability, it raises the question: where does he go from here?

Royal Lodge is emblematic of a bygone era for Prince Andrew—an extravagant home that now feels increasingly out of reach.

It’s a stark reminder of how swiftly fortunes can shift, especially within the confines of royal expectations and responsibilities.

What lies ahead for Andrew remains uncertain, but one thing is clear—his royal comforts seem to be dwindling, and the pressure to adapt is mounting.

Will he make the necessary changes?

Only time will tell how this chapter unfolds for Prince Andrew and his once-cherished Royal Lodge.
