Alison Brie Shares Comfort Working with Husband Dave Franco Directing Intimate Scenes

Actress Alison Brie recently discussed her experience filming “Somebody I Used to Know” alongside her spouse, Dave Franco.

In an interview with Jezebel, Brie expressed that having Franco direct her intimate scenes did not stir any discomfort between them.

The married couple, who tied the knot in March 2017, have engaged in various collaborative projects over the course of their relationship.

Alison Brie delved into the dynamics of having her husband, Dave Franco, at the helm of directing her intimate scenes in their upcoming movie, “Somebody I Used to Know.”

Brie, aged 40, divulged insights on working with Franco, 37, during a recent interview with Jezebel.

The duo co-wrote and directed the film together.

Brie underlined that they do not find the situation “uncomfortable.”

Reflecting on their shared work experiences, Brie stated, “We’ve had enough collaborations by now.”

She recounted their previous joint project, “The Little Hours,” directed by Jeff Baena, where Franco had romantic scenes with multiple actresses, including Brie.

This served as a pivotal moment that normalized such scenarios for them.

Describing their approach as professional, Brie acknowledged that while it may sound unconventional to some, acting is their craft.

Prioritizing the film they created together, she emphasized, “Our focus remains on the movie.”

Alison Brie and Dave Franco have a history of teaming up for various endeavors.

Their latest venture, “Somebody That I Used to Know,” is a romantic comedy featuring Brie as Ally, a reality TV producer reconnecting with her ex-boyfriend, Sean (played by Jay Ellis), before his marriage to Cassidy (Kiersey Clemons).

The movie premiered on Amazon Prime on February 10.

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Franco humorously mentioned that the first instance of sending explicit photos he encountered was for “Somebody I Used to Know.”

The couple’s collaborative streak extends beyond this project, spanning across films like “The Disaster Artist,” directed by James Franco in December 2017.

Expressing her delight in collaborating with her partner, Brie highlighted the comfort of being on set with someone she holds in high regard, as seen in their joint efforts like “The Rental,” Franco’s directorial debut in July 2020.

Alison Brie’s journey with Dave Franco exemplifies a seamless blend of personal and professional dynamics, showcasing their ability to navigate shared creative spaces with finesse.
