Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Opt Against Inheriting $421 Million Fortune to Kids

As the debate over “nepo babies” gains momentum, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have made headlines for their decision not to pass on any of their estimated $421 million wealth to their two children.

The celebrity duo, who tied the knot in July 2015 after meeting on the set of That ‘70s Show, are parents to Wyatt Isabelle, 8, and Dimitri Portwood, 6.

Kutcher initially disclosed their unconventional stance on their kids’ inheritance over five years ago, but the topic recently resurfaced, garnering attention on social media platforms like Twitter.

The discourse around the fairness of nepotism in industries like entertainment and fashion has further fueled interest in their choice.

While many offspring of famous individuals benefit from family connections, the Kutcher/Kunis children will not be part of such a narrative.

Kutcher emphasized during an interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in 2018 that they do not intend to establish trust funds for their children.

Acknowledging their children’s privileged upbringing, Kutcher expressed his desire for them to remain unaware of their wealth.

He stated that instead of setting up trusts, their fortune would be directed towards charitable causes and other philanthropic endeavors.

The actor’s comments from the past have sparked a range of reactions on social media, with some users humorously speculating about the content of the children’s will.

Kutcher clarified that while he might support his children’s business ventures in the future, he is not inclined to provide them with substantial sums of money without reason.

Both Kutcher and Kunis have amassed significant wealth through their respective careers, with Kutcher’s net worth estimated at $US200 million (NZ$318 million) and Kunis at $US65 million (NZ$103 million), including investments in tech start-ups and successful acting stints.

The couple intends to allocate the majority of their assets to various charitable organizations, underscoring their commitment to giving back.

This decision aligns with Kunis’s prior revelation about their family’s Christmas gifting policy, where they opt for charitable donations to institutions like children’s hospitals over material presents for their children.
