Comedian Chris Farley’s Tragic Demise Due to Cocaine and Morphine Overdose

The Cook County Medical Examiner revealed that the renowned comedian Chris Farley passed away from an accidental overdose involving cocaine and morphine, with no alcohol found in his system.

Dr. Edmund Donoghue stated that coronary atherosclerosis, a condition characterized by the narrowing of arteries supplying the heart muscle, played a significant role in the 33-year-old Farley’s demise on December 18.

Dr. Donoghue highlighted that all three of Farley’s coronary arteries displayed notable signs of narrowing, a common occurrence in cases of opiate intoxication.

The toxicology reports confirmed the presence of morphine, a painkiller derived from opium, as well as cocaine in Farley’s bloodstream.

Additionally, blood tests indicated the consumption of fluoxetine (Prozac) and an antihistamine by Farley, although these substances were not attributed to his passing.

In the medical examiner’s report, it was mentioned that both of Farley’s lungs exhibited edema and congestion, frequently observed in cases of opiate intoxication.

Furthermore, his liver showed fatty changes commonly associated with heavy drinkers.

At the time of his death, Farley stood at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed 296 pounds.

Thomas Farley, the comedian’s father, refrained from commenting on the disclosed findings, expressing his grief over the loss of his son.

Speaking from his residence in Madison, Wisconsin, where Chris Farley spent his formative years, Thomas Farley stated that he believes his son is now in a better place.

Farley’s body was discovered by his brother in his apartment located in the upscale John Hancock Building.

Law enforcement officials reported no indications of foul play or drug paraphernalia at the scene.

Farley, recognized for his lively performances on “Saturday Night Live” and his comedic roles in movies like “Tommy Boy” and “Black Sheep,” had battled with issues related to overeating, substance abuse, and alcohol consumption.

Allegedly, Farley engaged in binge drinking in the days leading up to his untimely death.

Former “Saturday Night Live” writer Al Franken disclosed that show producer Lorne Michaels had suspended Farley multiple times, urging him to seek assistance in managing his struggles.

A graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Farley had pursued studies in theater and communication.
