Controversial Age Gap in Jenna Ortega’s Movie Leads to Hollywood Rule Changes

A significant shift is happening in Hollywood as a result of the controversial s** scene between Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman in the movie “Miller’s Girl”.

Deadline recently revealed that the details emerging from the filming of the movie have prompted SAG-AFTRA to revise its Standards and Protocols concerning the role of Intimacy Coordinators, particularly focusing on confidentiality.

A spokesperson from SAG-AFTRA mentioned to Deadline that Intimacy Coordinators are now required to uphold the confidentiality of an actor’s work and experience in executing highly sensitive scenes unless they have explicit permission from the actor to disclose such information publicly.

Failure to comply with SAG-AFTRA’s standards could lead to removal from the registry following an investigation.

In “Miller’s Girl”, a controversial intimate scene unfolds between 21-year-old Ortega and 52-year-old Freeman, sparking criticism due to the significant 31-year age gap between the two actors.

Kristina Arjona, the film’s intimacy coordinator, shared insights about the scene in an interview with the Daily Mail, emphasizing the extensive support provided to Ortega throughout the process to ensure her comfort and agency in the scene.

Arjona highlighted her role in respecting Ortega’s decisions and adjusting to accommodate the varying comfort levels of actors, especially in productions like this where there is a noticeable age disparity between the cast members.

Despite Arjona shedding light on the scene, neither Ortega nor Freeman has publicly addressed the controversy, while Arjona reportedly signed confidentiality agreements with Lionsgate and a non-disclosure agreement.

SAG-AFTRA has now implemented stringent regulations to prevent future intimacy coordinators from divulging specific details similar to those discussed by Arjona without risking expulsion from the Guild.

According to the new standards and protocols established by SAG-AFTRA, any unauthorized disclosure of an actor’s scene work or confidential information entrusted to the intimacy coordinator is deemed unacceptable without the performer’s explicit consent.
