The well-known actor, Eddie Murphy, is now at the center of controversy as he is being accused of shirking his responsibilities as a father to a daughter he shares with the singer-turned-reality TV personality, Mel B.

Melanie is currently entangled in a legal battle with her purportedly abusive former spouse, Stephen Belafonte.

Recently, she found herself confronted with another legal issue when Belafonte sought visitation rights for one of Mel’s children, despite not being the child’s biological father.

Mel has vehemently opposed Belafonte’s attempts to gain access to the child, and is fighting ardently to shield her from him and the legal backing he has mobilized to support his cause.

According to an exclusive report by ‘The Daily Mail,’ Belafonte’s lawyer, Grace Jamra, disclosed that she has been attempting to contact Eddie Murphy, the biological father of Angel, to discuss Belafonte’s request for step-parent rights, but to no avail.

Jamra informed the court that Murphy, through his legal representatives, has shown no interest in engaging with the child.

She further stated that Murphy has had no communication or involvement with the child, and when legal documents were attempted to be served to him, he evaded them deliberately.

In the aftermath of their divorce settlement, Mel – whose real name is Melanie Brown – and Belafonte were supposed to divide the assets from their former shared home in Los Angeles, which is estimated to be valued between $6-7 million.
