Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy has shown disinterest in reuniting with his 10-year-old daughter Angel, whom he shares with America’s Got Talent star Mel B, as revealed in a Los Angeles court hearing on Wednesday.

Angel, who has been raised by Mel B and her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte during their 10-year marriage, has developed a bond with Belafonte, referring to him as ‘dad’ since she began speaking.

Despite this, Murphy has expressed no desire to establish a relationship with the child.

In a recent court session, Mel B, donned in an eye-catching ensemble, strongly opposed Belafonte’s attempts to secure step-parent visitation rights with Angel.

Belafonte’s lawyer, Grace Jamra, mentioned that multiple efforts to contact Murphy regarding the step-parent request have been unsuccessful, indicating Murphy’s lack of interest.

Although Murphy has had no communication with Angel, as confirmed by Jamra, Mel and Belafonte were supposed to divide the proceeds from their former marital home valued at approximately $6-7 million as part of their divorce settlement.

Belafonte, who appeared in court dressed formally, voiced concerns about delays in Mel’s contribution towards necessary repairs for the shared property.

Following his complaint, Judge Mark Juhas directed Mel to pay $10,000 to match Belafonte’s financial input for the house maintenance.

The former couple’s tumultuous divorce, involving allegations of various sorts, was finalized in December.

Belafonte, having joint custody of their six-year-old daughter Madison, is now seeking legal rights to visit Angel, a request that Mel has consistently opposed, labeling him negatively in court documents.

Amidst accusations and counterclaims, including disturbing allegations made by Mel against Belafonte, the ongoing legal battle between the ex-spouses has seen twists and turns.

Belafonte’s assertions of emotional trauma experienced by Angel due to the lack of contact are met with resistance from Mel, emphasizing her stance on the matter.
