Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep Allegedly Sparked Romance During ‘Ironweed’ Filming

Movie legends Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep are reportedly involved in a romantic affair during the 1980s.

The iconic Hollywood actor, known for his charm with women, is said to have engaged in a relationship with Meryl while working together on the 1987 film ‘Ironweed’, with claims suggesting that they even had intimate moments in his trailer on set.

These revelations come from Mark Eliot’s recently published biography titled ‘Nicholson’.

According to Mark, there were instances during filming where Nicholson’s Winnebago seemed to be under immense pressure due to the alleged intimacy shared between him and Meryl.

Their initial meeting dates back to 1985 when they co-starred in ‘Heartburn’.

However, their first collaboration ended on a sour note, as Meryl reportedly ejected Jack from her hotel room, vowing never to work with him again due to what she described as his persistent advances, which she vehemently denied.

Despite this rocky start, they reunited two years later for ‘Ironweed’, where their rumored romantic involvement supposedly began.

Nonetheless, Mark suggests that during this period, Jack was entangled in an unpredictable relationship with Anjelica Huston and simultaneously seeing actress Veronica Cartwright.

The biography highlights the swirling speculations surrounding Jack and Meryl as they commenced work on ‘Ironweed’.

Gossip spread like wildfire among the crew and beyond, focusing more on the alleged chemistry between the two stars rather than the film’s artistic aspects.

Meryl, who has been happily married to Don Gummer for over three decades, and Jack still maintain a close friendship to this day, despite the past rumors and alleged affair.

In a lighter context, during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s show ‘Watch What Happens Live’ last year, Meryl participated in a playful game where she humorously chose Robert Redford for marriage, Jack for a fling, and Dustin Hoffman to “kill”.

As of now, neither Nicholson nor Streep has issued any statements regarding these claims.
