Jon Cryer Gets Support from Charlie Sheen During Divorce Woes

Divorce can be a tough time for anyone, but having a good friend like Charlie Sheen by your side might make it a little easier.

Jon Cryer, known for his role in Two and a Half Men, opened up about how Sheen came to his aid after his split from his wife of five years, Sarah Trigger, back in 2004.

In his newly released memoir titled So That Happened, Cryer shares the story of how Sheen, then 49, stepped in to assist him during this challenging period.

Cryer, now 49, revealed in his memoir that following his divorce, he felt emotionally shattered and not ready to jump back into the dating scene.

He expressed his vulnerability by admitting, “I was in a bad state right after my divorce, and I certainly didn’t feel dateable.” To regain his confidence with the opposite s**, Cryer made a decision that surprised many – he turned to hiring the services of a professional companion.

Sheen, being a seasoned individual in such matters, recommended some online platforms that were gaining popularity for such services at the time.

The actor further delves into his unconventional experience with the hired companion, which turned out to be more awkward than intimate.

Recalling their encounter, Cryer shared, “It was really a very friendly experience, maybe because the act of having s** is quite the conversational icebreaker.” He narrated a comical situation where he found himself discussing stock market trends with the escort during their rendezvous, unintentionally switching roles to offer financial advice during what was supposed to be a different kind of transaction.

In another amusing anecdote, Cryer recounted an instance where Sheen sought his help in concealing a massive bag of adult content from his then-spouse Denise Richards.

The actor humorously recalled the peculiar request made by Sheen, adding a light-hearted touch to the narrative.

However, the friendship faced challenges when Sheen’s personal struggles with substance abuse became public knowledge.

Cryer found it increasingly difficult to support his friend as Sheen’s behavior escalated, leading to his departure from the popular sitcom.

Despite the backlash received for standing by Sheen amidst controversies, Cryer remained candid about the toll it took on him.

Following Sheen’s exit, Ashton Kutcher joined the cast as the new lead character, and the show continued for several more seasons before concluding in February.

Cryer’s memoir, So That Happened, provides readers with a glimpse into the ups and downs of his personal and professional life, offering a candid reflection on the tumultuous events that shaped his journey.
