Natalie Dormer Advocates for Gender Equality in n^dty on ‘Game of Thrones’

Actress Natalie Dormer, best known for her role as Margaery Tyrell in the popular TV series ‘Game of Thrones’, has expressed her opinion on the need for more male n^dty in the show.

Despite the series’ theme of seven feuding kingdoms, it has faced criticism for its perceived emphasis on female nudity.

Dormer, renowned for portraying seductive and enigmatic characters on screen, is set to reprise her role in the upcoming fifth season.

Reflecting on past seasons, Dormer pointed out instances where male actors like Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark) appeared partially nude, albeit not fully exposed.

She attributed the limitations on n^dty to the constraints of broadcast television, suggesting that ‘Game of Thrones’ has slightly outperformed other shows in terms of gender equality but could benefit from further balancing the portrayal of nudity.

While Dormer has excelled in portraying characters with alluring personas and hidden agendas, she now aims to distance herself from such stereotypical roles.

Expressing her inclination towards personal and artistic growth, she emphasized a desire to move beyond characters defined solely by their s**ual allure.

Dormer stated, “I enjoy embodying women who possess s**ual prowess.

However, I am seeking to evolve beyond that persona, both for my own development and to align more closely with my authentic self.”

In her role as Cressida in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1’, Dormer portrays a filmmaker who supports Katniss Everdeen.

She commended the film for offering roles traditionally reserved for men to female characters, highlighting a trend in cinema where complex and multifaceted women are gaining prominence alongside their male counterparts.
