Rebel Wilson Accuses Sacha Baron Cohen of Pressuring Her on Set

Rebel Wilson has made startling claims against Sacha Baron Cohen, stating that he pushed her to go n^de during the filming of “The Brothers Grimsby.”

Moreover, Wilson revealed that Cohen attempted to coerce her into performing a lewd scene without prior consent.

In her upcoming memoir titled “Rebel Rises,” the “Pitch Perfect” actress details her encounters with Cohen.

Wilson asserts that Cohen persistently requested her to disrobe for a future scene, despite her firm stance against nudity.

Referring to an episode during filming in Cape Town, Wilson recounted how Cohen summoned her through a production assistant, informing her about an additional scene.

Subsequently, Cohen unexpectedly dropped his pants and instructed Wilson to engage in a lewd act, which she adamantly refused.

Feeling intimidated by the situation, Wilson expressed her discomfort and reluctance but eventually compromised by slapping Cohen on the buttocks and improvising lines as per the character’s role.

Following the release of “The Brothers Grimsby,” which had a budget of $35 million but garnered a meager £27 million globally according to Box Office Mojo, Wilson remarked that the film’s box office failure served as poetic justice.

She clarified that her intent in sharing these incidents was not to cancel anyone but to shed light on such experiences faced by women, hoping to mitigate their occurrence in the future.

In response to Wilson’s allegations, a spokesperson for Cohen dismissed the claims as false, citing substantial evidence including contemporaneous documents, footage, and eyewitness testimonies contradicting her narrative.

Additionally, Cohen’s representatives forwarded anonymous statements from nine individuals involved in the film, with five disputing Wilson’s version of events during the Cape Town scene.

Among those supporting Cohen’s account were a writer-producer who affirmed that the scene in question was scripted and scheduled.

Wilson’s sister and a friend corroborated her story, disclosing that the actress had confided in them shortly after the alleged incident.

Requests for comments from representatives of both Wilson and Cohen regarding the published excerpt remain unanswered at the time of reporting.

The controversy surrounding Wilson’s revelations underscores the importance of open dialogue and transparency in the entertainment industry, highlighting the need to address issues of consent and boundary violations on film sets.
