Mexican actress Salma Hayek seems to be embracing a familiar role yet again, portraying a character that might label her as typecast, though it’s doubtful that many would raise objections about it.

The renowned “Frida” actress stars alongside Mathieu Demy in the upcoming drama film “Americano,” which follows the journey of a man from Paris to Los Angeles to attend to his mother’s affairs after her passing.

His quest ultimately leads him to Tijuana, where he seeks out a friend of his late mother.

In the streets of Tijuana, he encounters Lola, a dancer at a local strip club who sustains herself through her performances.

Lola is brought to life by none other than Salma Hayek, who previously took on a similar role in the 1996 movie “From Dusk Till Dawn.”
