Brass Against Singer’s Controversial Act Sparks Police Report

A recent incident at a live performance by Brass Against in Daytona, Fla., has caused quite a stir, leading to the filing of a police report.

During the band’s rendition of the Rage Against the Machine hit “Wake Up,” lead singer Sophia Urista invited a fan onto the stage, where she proceeded to shock the audience by seemingly urinating on his face.

The controversial moment unfolded on Nov. 11, as Urista, recognized for her appearance on “The Voice” in 2016, engaged with the crowd in a rather unconventional manner.

In a video capturing the scene, she can be seen pulling down her pants, squatting over the eager fan, and introducing a new level of interaction to the live performance.

Following the incident, a fan who witnessed the act reported the matter to the authorities, prompting the filing of a police report.

In Florida, such actions are deemed illegal under laws prohibiting the exposure of s**ual organs in public or on private premises in an indecent manner, potentially resulting in a year of imprisonment or a fine of up to $1,000.

Acknowledging the unexpected nature of Urista’s behavior, the band initially distanced themselves from her actions, labeling them as “profoundly unexpected.”

However, they later assured fans that such incidents were not reflective of their usual performances, aiming to reassure those attending future shows.

Despite mixed reactions from social media users, with some hailing the act as rebellious and others condemning it as distasteful, the band maintained its stance.

Their website boasts collaborations with renowned artists like Tool, Lenny Kravitz, and more, with plans for an upcoming European tour in the spring.

In the midst of the controversy, Urista is scheduled to perform at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar later this month, continuing her musical journey amid the aftermath of the headline-making incident.
