Right before its premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in September, there were high hopes from The Weinstein Company for “Butter” to be a surprise Oscar contender, capturing attention with its satirical portrayal of a character resembling Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin, portrayed by Jennifer Garner.

However, as November sets in, “Butter” did not make a significant impact at Telluride, and the political landscape has shifted with Bachmann no longer in the Presidential race.

Had the film garnered immense praise at Telluride, it likely would have seen a 2011 release date.

Yet, given the current circumstances, the movie is now scheduled for March 16, 2012.

To provide a sneak peek, several new stills have emerged, offering a fresh perspective on Olivia Wilde’s role as the stripper/prostitute Brooke and Hugh Jackman’s portrayal of the car salesman/adulterer Boyd Bolton.

The star-studded cast also includes Yara Shahidi, Rob Corddry, Alicia Silverstone, and the recent Emmy victor Ty Burrell.

The storyline revolves around Laura (Garner), the wife of ex-butter sculpting champion Bob (Burrell), who endeavors to claim her husband’s former glory but faces opposition from a young African American girl named (Shahidi) with a remarkable talent for butter art.

While we anticipate the release of a trailer in the near future, we can currently delight in these images.
