Shia LaBeouf’s Method Acting Blamed for Unpredictable Behavior

Actor Shia LaBeouf has attributed his erratic behavior to his immersive approach to method acting, revealing how it has caused real-life conflicts.

LaBeouf found himself at odds with Alec Baldwin during the production of the Broadway play ‘Orphans’.

Despite clashes, LaBeouf clarified that his actions were in preparation for his role and not intended to harm Baldwin, as per Contactmusic reports.

Recalling the intense experience, LaBeouf admitted to a significant clash with Baldwin, even resorting to sleeping outdoors during that period.

He confessed to being in an intense state of mind, emphasizing that his primary objective was to unsettle Baldwin as part of his character portrayal.

“I was determined to make Baldwin feel genuinely threatened.

It wasn’t an act.

I aimed to instill fear in him.

So, for three weeks of rehearsal, that was my focus,” he shared.

The 28-year-old actor, known for his roles in ‘Lawless’ and the ‘Transformers’ series, encountered legal trouble in June after purportedly slapping Alan Cumming under the influence and subsequently spitting at a police officer.

Reflecting on his actions, LaBeouf linked his behavior to his study of performance art from past decades, where he believed everyone involved in a production plays a crucial role.

However, he acknowledged his mistake in assuming such an approach was appropriate.
