King Charles to Abdicate the Throne in 10 Years, Claims Former Aide

One of ‘ former aides is convinced that the monarch will abdicate the throne within the next decade.

Despite his relatively short reign, discussions about the end of King Charles III’s rule have already begun among those who once worked closely with him.

According to the ex-royal staff member, both King Charles and Queen (formerly known as Camilla Parker Bowles) will not remain on the throne for more than ten years.

The former aide’s belief that King Charles will abdicate in a decade stems from recent events surrounding abdications in other royal families.

The abdication of the Queen of Denmark at the close of 2023, in favor of her son becoming king, has sparked speculation about whether other royals in different countries will follow suit.

Paul Burrell, who began his career in the royal household at the age of 18 and later served as II’s personal footman before transitioning to the household of Prince Charles and , expressed his views on behalf of Slingo Burrell.

Burrell asserts that the events in Denmark will also unfold in the United Kingdom.

He states, “I think [King Charles and Queen Camilla] have given this job 10 years.

I think this is a 10-year plan.

Since the beginning, I have believed that the king is buying William’s time, and in 10 years, the king will be in his mid-80s.

I don’t think he will want to continue being king when other European monarchs have handed over their crowns to their heirs, allowing them to enjoy the role.”

While acknowledging that Queen Elizabeth would likely never have considered abdicating due to her generational differences, Burrell believes that King Charles possesses a different mindset.

Drawing comparisons to , who retired from public duties at the age of 96, Burrell suggests that King Charles will follow suit and prioritize his personal pursuits.

Burrell envisions a scenario where the country embraces a new, youthful king and queen, completing the circle as Princess Diana’s son ascends to the throne.

Burrell also predicts that before the conclusion of 2024, and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as ) will embark on another royal tour.

This is because King Charles and Queen Camilla prefer not to undertake long-haul travel at their age.

Additionally, should the king require assistance during his reign, Burrell believes that his sister, Princess Anne, will play a crucial role.

“In the autumn, if Kate’s health allows, I foresee a royal tour because the king and queen are not fond of long-haul trips,” Burrell explains.

“Therefore, I anticipate a tour to Canada or Australia for William and Kate.

Princess Anne will always be there as well.

She is the epitome of a dedicated queen, possessing an incredible work ethic that greatly reflects upon the .

The king will heavily rely on both his sister and his son in the months to come.”
