The Heartache Behind Paul McCartney’s Exclusion of Julian Lennon From His Wedding

Julian Lennon, the son of the legendary John Lennon, has always carried a sense of isolation in his heart.

In a recent feature by The Guardian, Julian revealed that his first taste of neglect came when his father’s attention shifted to Yoko Ono, leading to the dissolution of his parents’ marriage back in 1968.

“It felt like my dad vanished from existence overnight.

Yoko Ono captured his affection publicly, leaving my mom and me on the outskirts of his life,” Julian emotionally shared.

The aftermath of John’s departure left Julian harboring deep-seated resentment towards his father.

“For nearly a decade, communication between my dad and me was minimal.

The hurt from how he abandoned us lingered within me.

It took my mom’s gentle spirit to bridge the gap between us again.

She never harbored ill feelings and only wished for me to rebuild my bond with my father,” Julian reflected on his journey of reconciliation.

In a moment of public outcry in 2011, Julian unleashed his grievances towards Paul McCartney and other members of his father’s iconic band for not extending an invitation to his wedding.

The Denver Post reported Julian’s impassioned response, where he called out McCartney for overlooking him in various social gatherings involving The Beatles.
