This weekend, Meghan Markle made a solo surprise appearance at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital 2024 Gala.
In an effort to be sustainable, the Duchess chose to recycle a red dress she had worn at a 2021 veterans event she attended with husband Harry. Here’s every thing we know about her surprise appearance.
Meghan Markle Greeted Guests In Her First Solo Outing Following Bullying Report
Meghan Markle was all smiles as she stunned on the red carpet with her red Carolina Herrera gown. Even though it was a rewear, the dress still got cheers for its plunging neckline design and front slit. She, however, chose to pair it with red heels this time, instead of the black she originally debuted the dress with.
The gown may be a rewear but the Duchess debuted a new hairstyle at the event, with her hair long and wavy. She also chatted with, hugged and smiled with guests on the red carpet of the event, which was held to honor CHLA’s patients and hospital pediatric workers.
Meghan Markle “Escorted Out” By Event Staff Member Following Red Carpet Glitz
Meghan Markle may have had her shining moment on the red carpet, but she apparently wasn’t offered a seat during the main event.
PEOPLE reported, “At the CHLA gala, a smiling Meghan chatted and took photos with a family whose kids are patients at the hospital, as well as with a group of nurses from the hospital. She was later escorted out of the event by a side door by a staff member, after chatting to more guests as she made her exit.”
While the attendance was a surprise, Meghan had previously led a healing session at the children’s hospital in L.A. in March.
Speaking of her time there, she said, “Oh my goodness, the work they do at Children’s Hospital L.A. is otherworldy, and I think from my standpoint as a mother, no one wants to be in a position where you need to go to a place like this, but if you have to, the best place in the world you could go would be Children’s Hospital L.A.”
“The staff is incredible, and the amount of work they do for families that really could not afford this level of care is something that I think should never be overlooked,” Meghan continued. “So I’m just grateful for everything they do.”
